Hampsthwaite School Forums
At Hampsthwaite School we feel it is important to give the children a voice when discussing a range of topics. We involve children from Year 1 to Year 6 in our forums and provide them with opportunities to work alongside the subject leader of a particular curriculum area. The forums meet regularly and will look at their curriculum area in detail, from auditing resources and reviewing learning areas to reporting to governors and leading curriculum worship times. They also gather the views of their peers and feedback to the subjects leaders.
This year we are focusing on Reading and Science as our two forum areas. We are already enjoying seeing the children feel empowered as they plan the areas they would like to improve and talk passionately about their curriculum area.
The CTA are a fundraising team of Year 6 children that help raise money for school funds and charities like Children in Need and Red Nose Day. We have a chair and a vice chair who help us make final decisions and plan activities. We had a day that raised money for Children in Need. We had a non-uniform day, colouring competition and cake bake stall. We enjoyed planning activities for the children to do in the hall.
We really enjoy being on the CTA and look forward to our next fundraising event.
