Fairtrade Fortnight 2014

We had a great Fairtrade Fortnight! Our Fairtrade Committee visited Richard Taylor school to meet with Fairtraders from other schools and give a presentation about our Fairtrade work at Hampsthwaite.
Back in school, each class learned about the journey of a cocoa bean from plantation to chocolate bar, and we made banana muffins and smoothies to raise money for the Fairtrade Foundation. Our Fairtrade Fortnight ended with a whole-school assembly for parents, where every class presented some of their learning about Fairtrade. This included the journey of bananas, banana poetry by Y1/2, artwork and a fantastic Fairtrade rap written and performed by Y5/6.
