Sports Funding 2015/2016

Sports Funding:

For the academic year 2015/2016, the school received £8465 in Sports Funding, which was allocated as follows:

Membership of Harrogate School Sports Cluster  15%
Access to multi sports training and competitions, and participation in interschool competitive leagues and galas

Children took part in regular competitive sports

Hampsthwaite came in 1st place in the swimming gala and 1st placed in the Northern region tennis championships

Staff training sessions 14%
To further improve staff skills and enable new areas of provision for pupils in school
TAs now involved in PE lessons and in extracurricular gym sessions
Sports sessions from specialist sports coach 37%
New opportunities for pupils, whilst
 staff also observe and develop their expertise and ideas

Improved links between sports teaching and other curriculum areas

Teachers developing their own coaching skills for key sports in PE and after school clubs - hockey, netball and table tennis

New equipment and facilities in school enable a wider range of sports opportunities and new skills to be taught in PE and after-school clubs
